How we grade evidence

Every review and ingredient article carries a grade. It rates the human research behind the main claim at the dose actually sold, not the marketing.

Editorial standards
Grade Label What it means
A Strong Multiple randomised controlled trials or a meta-analysis in humans, consistent direction, effect at the dose sold.
B Moderate At least one good randomised trial or several smaller ones; some inconsistency, short duration or population limits.
C Limited Small or low-quality human studies, or an effect shown only at doses products rarely contain.
D Weak Animal, cell or observational data only, or human trials that failed to show an effect.
